What an AI SEO certification is worth
There is no governing body for SEO, so there is no official AI SEO certification. Every certificate on this page is issued by the course provider. That is fine for what it is: a signal to an employer or client that you completed a structured curriculum on GEO, AEO or AI search, often with an exam.
Where a certificate helps most is inside companies. A manager approving training budget likes an invoice and a credential, and free academy certificates are easy to add to a profile. Where it helps least is with clients buying results. They will care about what you did for someone else.
Free vs paid AI SEO certifications
The free certificates come from software academies and are usually earned by passing a short multiple choice exam. The paid ones come through Coursera, training companies and certification bodies, and they tend to involve longer programs. 12 of the 24 certificate programs here are paid or bundled.
